OUR TEAM

Shannon Walker-Nel
Shannon grew up in safari lodges in Zambia and finished school in sunny South Africa, so she has always been surrounded by the hospitality industry and the sea. She joined the yachting industry when she was 18 years old and spent the next ten years working her way up to Chief Stewardess, reaching many of her goals, including being part of a new build project. She now lives in the South of France, on dry land, and can use her experience to help others looking to pursue their yachting career. Shannon has a deep understanding of what is required to be part of a close knit team on board, and she's in a great position to help anyone looking for crew or their next job. In her free time Shannon loves long walks with her dog, watching sunsets and painting

Sarah Tingay
Sarah gained her first experience in yachting by working for two summers on a 55ft Ketch sailing yacht. Then after studying, she embarked on a successful career in finance and online recruitment. With a passion for travel and a love of hospitality, Sarah returned to a full-time career in yachting. She rose quickly through the ranks as Chief Stewardess on yachts ranging from 30-50m in private and charter, including refits and new builds. After taking a break to start a family, Sarah launched Compass Rose Crew with a long-time friend and admired colleague, Shannon. They have combined their yachting and recruitment experience to create something that reflects their shared values. In her free time Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, snowboarding, and hiking.
